Film Lesson: "Night and Fog"

The documentary of this movie seemed cold and distant to me because they only told you facts and showed you clips of what happened with no one to relate.

I think the only powerful aspects of this movie was the cold hard facts of the innocent people who had to suffer because of the hatred of unkind people.

I think that the "Schindler's List" was more powerful because they went into the details of the events. "Night and Fog" was just pictures of the events that happened, but "Schindler's List" has scenes and sound and voices. It has interpretations of what was once said and reenactments of scenes that were powerful to people who once lived in that time.

I think that the Hollywood version of the Holocaust was more effective because the movie version told the stories of those who died through their families eyes and showed how the Jews were physically abused without you imagined how it could have been through pictures like the documentary. The movie version showed how it was without you using your imagination wrongly and picturing something entirely different.

Film Lesson: "Schindler's List"

This film illustrated the Holocaust through various events. It showed the many aspects of terrorizing the Jews and the pure hatred being sprouted towards them.

A powerful scene in the movie for me was when they came to gather the Jews and killed those who ran were slaughtered in the streets while their own people ran over them to find their own fates.

An image from the movie that I think will stay with me is when the Nazis came to clean out the ghetto and the children ran into various hiding places. They hid in the walls, floors, closets, cabinet, sinks and many other weird places. One scene that I think that I will never forget was when a boy was running around everywhere and everywhere he went the spot was taken until he finally decided without a moments hesitation to jump into the toilet which was full of nastiness and when he got down there there were other children there.

US Atomic Bombing of Japan in 1945

I absolutely agree that the US Atomic Bombing of Japan is the #1 news story of the century because it emphasize our world today.
Who knows what would have happened if not for that atomic bomb? Would we have more or less wars? No one knows.

Many were injured by this bombed. Mentally. Physically. Even those who were not there were affected. Women were giving birth to ill-disfunctioned children. People were dying months, years, and days apart from each other because of the after effects of this bomb. This bomb might have set its goal in eliminating the enmey but it also eliminated those who were once innocent.

What we all seem to figure out is that without that atomic bomb our world today would be entirely different. Either for the better or the worse.

Something that I think can compete with this source of the destruction is from my own generation which was the two planes crashing into the Twin Towers. With this a war started. This is opposite to the atomic bombing because with that the war gradually seized to and abrupt end. Still, with thees two extreme situations came extreme consequences and facts.

From the list given I would say to put the atomic bomb testing in New Mexico underneath the US Atomic Bombing of Japan in 1945 because without this first bombing their would probably be no bomb at all without seeing its results first.

Germany at War - WW II

The word propaganda means to deliberately spread rumors.

This Nazi poster implies propaganda because with the spreadings of power, war, violence,
religion.

This poster also implies propaganda through the moving of homes and places to sleep(beds).
This symbolizes the moving of the Jewish from their own homes to the ghetto into the
concentration camp and back to their old working places.

It seems as if the Jews were uprooted room their homes longer than the could call it a home.
This shows racism in more ways than one. Through religion, race, power level, and other such
made up nonsense just to make themselves feel better.
